Q1: Where is Eyes Downtown Optical located and what are the hours?
Eyes Downtown 902 Main St. Buffalo, NY, 14202 between Virginia and Allen streets.
We are open six days a week, as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Fridays: 10am to 5:00pm
Wednesdays: 10:00am to 7:00pm
Saturdays: 10am to 2:00pm
Sundays: CLOSED
Q2: Do I need an appointment for an eye examination?
Yes, we recommended scheduling an appointment. For your convenience, we have an optometrist on the premises on Wednesday – Saturday.

Q4: How often should I have an eye examination?
We recommend once every 2 years and once a year for contact lenses.
Q5: How quickly can a pair of eyeglasses be made?
Most prescriptions can be filled within a week. However, some may take longer depending upon the prescription.
Q6: What is the price of a pair of eyeglasses?
Prices may vary based on prescriptions and frame preference. We do offer an eyeglasses special for as low as $99 which includes frames and lenses from a certain selection. Sign up for our newsletter, check the site for coupons, or call us for information and we will gladly share what special offers are currently available.
Q7: Do you fit contact lenses?
Yes, our optometrists fit all types of contact lenses. If you do not have a valid prescription, our doctor on site will be happy to perform an eye examination and contact lens fitting. We are required to have a valid current prescription from a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist before dispensing contact lenses or prescription eyeglasses.
Q8: What frame brands do you sell?
We sell most designer names including Dolce & Gabanna, Valentino, Oakley Prada, Gucci and more. We have a vast selection of designer frames from Europe and Japan and we offer a wide range of sunglasses from performance to glamour.
Q9: What types of eyeglass lenses do you sell?
We cover the full spectrum of ophthalmic lenses from single vision to progressives. In addition, we offer all varieties of lens coatings including UV and anti-reflective coatings. Transition and polarized lenses are also available in single vision, bifocal and progressive lenses.
Q10: Do you sell sports goggles?
Yes, we carry a large selection of sports goggles and protective eyewear. We also fit prescription and non-prescription swimming goggles.
Q11: Can Eyes Downtown repair my eyeglasses?
We pride ourselves on our fittings, adjustments and repairs. While we cant perform miracles, if you have a problem with a frame come in and let us take a look. We will do whatever we can to get them back to the way they were.
Q12: What vision plans do you accept?
We accept UNIVERA, AETNA, BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD, INDEPENDENT HEALT, VSP, AARP and AAA vision plans. For other insurance plans, we provide an itemized receipt for you to submit to your carrier for direct reimbursement.
Q13: What kinds of credit cards do you accept?
We accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and debit cards.
Q14: Can I order online?

Q15: Does Eyes Downtown warranty its frames and lenses?
Yes, we offer warranties on all our frames and lenses. Warranties may vary depending on the manufacturer and type of eyewear.
